Tahoe Weather

Lake Tahoe gets an average of 250 to 300 sunny days a year and humidity is very low, especially in summer.  Water temperatures range from 32 degrees Fahrenheit in winter to 68 degrees in the summer.  June - Septemeber see highs in the mid 80's and lows in the 40's.

Lake Tahoe is high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with an average elevation well over 6,000 feet and winter storms are common. It's easy to get caught unprepared, as Lake Tahoe weather quickly changes from clear skies to blizzards. From September through June, winter storms are possible at Lake Tahoe and drivers should be sure they have chains with them.
